Chennai: A new opportunity has opened for Water-Tech Startups to scale solutions addressing India’s water challenges.
Akamai Technologies – India CSR Trust, through its Grant-in-Aid programs, is inviting applications for the Akamai Acceleration Program (Cohort 7) and the Akamai Incubation Program (Cohort 3), offering grants, mentorship, and access to customers and industry partners.

Water-Tech Startups: Akamai Acceleration and Incubation Programs
The Akamai initiatives are designed to support Water-Tech Startups at different stages of growth.
Akamai Acceleration Program (Cohort 7):
- Grants up to ₹30 lakhs.
- Technical and business mentorship from industry experts.
- Real-world pilots, field testing, and investment readiness.
- Direct access to stakeholders, customers, and distribution channels.
- Ideal for startups with a validated MVP and a growth-driven focus.
Akamai Incubation Program (Cohort 3):
- Grants up to ₹5 lakhs.
- Entrepreneurial and leadership skill development.
- Structured guidance to create a validated MVP.
- Exclusive opportunity to pitch for the Acceleration Program.
- Best suited for early-stage startups with a working prototype.
Waterpreneur Studio: A Hub for Water-Tech Startups
These programs are facilitated through Waterpreneur Studio, the entrepreneurship hub of ICCW, launched in 2023 to empower water innovators.

Waterpreneur Studio provides tailored support, resources, and mentorship to startups and MSMEs developing impactful solutions in water distribution, waterbody management, sensing, treatment, and agriculture applications.
Since FY 2019, Akamai Technologies – India CSR Trust has been funding these initiatives, strengthening the ecosystem for water innovation and building sustainable models for water security.
